Workshop 15 (sold out)
Family Therapy Treatment and Training Using the Integrated Module-Based Family Therapy (IMBFT) Model
The Integrated Module-Based Family Therapy (IMBFT) Model of treatment has been designed specifically for use in child and adolescent psychiatric practice. This Workshop covers development, application, and rationale and applicability of IMBFT in child and adolescent psychiatric practice and training. The IMBFT uses ten critical domains for assessment and intervention: biological/psychiatric; attachment; family structure; communication; child and family development; affect regulation; behavior regulation; cognitive/narrative; mastery; and community (culture, race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation). The model provides, through a structured assessment instrument, a step-by-step process for assessment and a strategy for selecting the important domains for intervention. IMBFT also provides suggested empirically supported treatment per domain, and well-established or best-practice approaches. Participants receive a guided “roadmap,” learning how to apply the model in their clinical practice or how to use it within their educational setting.
