Training Forum: Progress in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinical Skills Verification Process
All child and adolescent psychiatry residents initiating training in July 2010 must competently complete at least three physician-patient clinical skills evaluations with at least two different age groups of children/youth and at least two separate examiners in order to be credentialed to sit for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) certification examination. The Training Forum presents model curricula, Clinical Skills Verification (CSV) assessment models, and a train-the-evaluators program for participants. Utilizing this module, participants may train their faculty to more reliably assess resident competence in this core skill. We encourage discussion from Residency Program Directors on progress thus far, standards to apply, and remediation issues.

This is your chance to prepare, problem-solve, and plan how to teach your faculty to implement the CSV evaluations. Other updates from the ABPN and RRC are also provided.
