Rain of the Children
In Rain of the Children, Vincent Ward, a young film maker, journeyed to New Zealand's remote bush where he found remnants of an ancient way of life. Ward was taken in by an old Maori woman, Puhi, whose extraordinary relationship with her schizophrenic son led to the making of this film. While filming the documentary Ward glimpsed a mystery that would haunt him for many years, driving him back to unravel the secrets of the past - who Puhi really was, the curse that she believed was upon her, and the extraordinary events of a lifetime lived against a tumultuous historic canvas. The themes and issues raised by the film are discussed by the presenters after viewing the documentary.
