Town Meeting: Health Care Systems Reform and Mental Health Parity
Over the last two years, two historic pieces of legislation passed in Congress: The Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity Act and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (National Health Care Reform). Both of these laws will (if they haven’t already) have a significant impact on your patients and your practice.

AACAP was very involved in advocating for both of these Acts. This Town Meeting examines key provisions in each piece of legislation that are essential to your practice. Speakers give updates on the implementation of specific provisions of the healthcare bill and the mental health parity regulations and discuss what each means to your practice and patients. We would also like to hear from you about your questions, concerns, and fears regarding health care reform and problems you or your patients are having with insurers implementing the parity requirements.
