WORKSHOPS are 3 hours in duration. Workshops for up to 25 participants provide instruction on treatment, research method, delivery, or organization of services.

This format encourages audience participation in a hands-on, focused learning experience. Workshops provide instruction in a particular clinical, research, or other technique for debate or discussion among a small audience.

Participants purchase a ticket to attend a Workshop. Submissions about clinical techniques should include a brief description of or reference to the scientific evidence for and limitations of the treatment technique. Workshops have a maximum of three (3) presenters.

The Workshop chair may claim up to $75 for reimbursement for the cost of copying handout materials (receipts must be submitted). Define the topic, the goals and the methods, and specify the contribution of each presenter. Provide clear educational goals and indicate how the Workshop will work toward attaining those goals.

Provide a clear description of the method of teaching in the Workshop. Also provide a specific description of teaching materials and a timetable for your Workshop in the submission.

The use of handouts is strongly encouraged. All accepted submissions must display full disclosure slides to the audience. Approximately 40 Workshop spaces are available.

The following information is required:

  • The title of the submission
  • The chair’s affiliation and email address
  • Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee review status, if applicable
  • Educational learning objectives
  • One Review Abstract for the entire Workshop
  • One Proceedings Abstract
  • Names, affiliations, and email addresses for all co-presenters
  • Disclosure of conflicts of affiliation from each chair, discussant, and presenter (AACAP will contact each presenter individually in late February to obtain this information.)
