Workshop 42 (ticket)
New Advances in Treating Child and Adolescent Trauma: Cognitive Therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
Children and adolescents can develop posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after exposure to a variety of traumatic events, including sexual abuse, interpersonal violence, and accidents. This Workshop provides an opportunity to obtain up-to-date knowledge about Ehlers and Clark’s cognitive model of PTSD and its applicability to children and adolescents. Attendees learn to carry out diagnostic assessment and cognitive formulations with young people and families and learn how to plan and deliver individually tailored Trauma-Focused Cognitive Therapy with children and families.
