Thinking about going into business for yourself? This Workshop is for child and adolescent psychiatrists who are considering opening, but have not yet opened, a private practice. It provides an overview of the types of private practices, a timetable for the many tasks required to successfully launch your practice, and factors to consider in making decisions. Factors such as budgeting for expenses and income; where and what kind of practice to establish, marketing, fees, forms, scheduling, billing, and negotiating managed care contracts are covered. In addition, important issues to consider before committing to an electronic health record system are discussed.
