Medical Student and Resident Breakfast: Inspiration for Success In Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Wake up early to discover your own inspiration as three distinguished child and adolescent psychiatrists share the compelling life moments that brought them into the exciting world of child psychiatry. Shashank Joshi, M.D. is the Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Training at Stanford University. His teaching and research focuses on school mental health, pediatric psychotherapy, and medication interventions. Simon Davidson, M.D., FRCPC is the Chief of Specialized Psychiatric and Mental Health Services for Children and Youth at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and Chair of the Child and Youth Advisory Committee of the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC). Alessandra N. Kazura, M.D. is Director of the Pediatric Psychiatry Consultation Service at Maine Medical Center and Medical Director of the Center for Tobacco Independence of Maine Health. Her research focuses are on child tobacco use, adolescent smoking uptake, and parent smoking succession. Dr. Kazura is chair of the AACAP Substance Abuse Committee. There is an interactive discussion with the speakers following their presentations.
