The Early Career Psychiatrist (ECP) Mentorship Forum provides ECPs with a structured opportunity for making mentorship connections with other child and adolescent psychiatrists in their geographic region. Representatives from AACAP Regional Organizations and ECPs are brought together for roundtable discussions to promote ECP involvement and mentorship. The program reinforces effective practices in the mentee/mentor relationship while raising awareness of local AACAP resources and fostering ECP interest in active involvement in local AACAP activities. As a result, ECPs gain a better understanding of how to utilize mentorship, feel more connected to their regional organization, and make use of the regional organization as a mentorship resource.
