Mental Health Advocacy Seminar: Being An Effective Advocate for Children’s Mental Health

Attention Early Career Psychiatrists and Trainees: We all have a role to play in improving policies and services for children and adolescents with mental illness —and your voice is crucial! As part of professional practice, it is imperative that child and adolescent psychiatrists engage federal and state legislators on the important mental health issues that directly address the needs of patients, parents, and practices.

Join AACAP’s Department of Government Affairs to learn the skills you need to be an effective advocate.  Designed for child and adolescent psychiatry trainees and early career psychiatrists, this training helps participants develop the advocacy knowledge and skills that are critical to a child and adolescent psychiatrist’s professional practice.  Speakers present updates on the current federal and state legislative environments and learn practical strategies to engage legislators at the federal and state levels.
