Special Interest Study Group 9 (ticket)
Parental Alienation
Parental alienation, a mental condition in which a child allies himself strongly with one parent and rejects the other without legitimate justification, is an important phenomenon that mental health professionals should understand. The presenters developed a comprehensive, international bibliography regarding parental alienation to establish the validity of the concept. Participants learn how to recognize parental alienation, learn the definition of parental alienation, and have the opportunity to make suggestions as to how the criteria should be stated.
