Me Facing Life: Cyntoia's Story
Cyntoia Brown was an average teenager in an American town, until a series of bad decisions led the 16-year-old into a situation that ended with her killing a man who had picked her up for sex. She was tried in criminal court and found guilty of first-degree murder. This documentary identifies several risk factors in Cyntoia’s family and personal life experiences (genetic, prenatal, life experiences) that led her to commit murder. Attendees learn how society typically deals with adolescents who commit violent crimes and discussion provides an opportunity to develop an opinion regarding the disposition of teenaged murders.
