Workshop 12 (sold out)
The ABC's of Applied Behavior Analysis and Related Techniques for Autism Intervention: Demonstration and Didactics
Finding successful interventions for children with autism and related disorders can be a daunting task for both parents and professionals. Some of the most common and proven interventions are those based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), relational skills, life skills, and communication skills (speech therapy and assisted communication). This Workshop provides practical, meaningful, “real life” exposure to ABA and related interventions. Information on the effectiveness of these interventions is shared through discussion and demonstrations; and clinical and research knowledge on how to choose the best intervention for each patient is provided. A brief overview of resource availability and physician and parent advocacy is given.
