Workshop 10 (sold out)
Neuropsychiatric Assessment of Children and Adolescents
Child and adolescent psychiatrists are increasingly called upon to provide opinion regarding psychiatric complications in patients with illness that overlaps between neurology and psychiatry. Conditions such as intellectual and developmental disabilities, epilepsy, migraine, tic disorders, and other complex diseases represent challenges to child and adolescent psychiatrists who are charged with assessing mental status and attributing observed symptoms either to neurologic disease or to a psychiatric condition. This Workshop acquaints child and adolescent psychiatrists with current evaluation methods and provides opportunities to practice assessment techniques and gain comfort in their administration. Participants increase their skill in assessing mental status in children and adolescents with neuropsychiatric illness.
