Participants gain understanding of the basic principles necessary to assess, plan treatment, and provide a supportive medical base for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and questioning (GLBQ) adolescents. Risk behaviors as warning signals of issues arising from sexual orientation; practical advise for clinicians; and resource materials and support options for youth and their parents are presented. The strengths and diversity of GLBQ youth within the framework of adolescent development are outlined. Attendees are encouraged to present clinical questions for discussion.
