Workshop 30 (ticket)
Writing about Patients: Benefits, Complications, and Connections of Sharing Their Stories
Psychiatrists can reflect on their practice, and educate others about the often invisible work of psychotherapy, by writing about their patients. This Workshop covers the important considerations of confidentiality, consent, format, and stereotyping. Opportunities for writing about patents and related challenges are described. Participants gain understanding of ways to write about patients while respecting identity and confidentiality, as well as how such writing supports education in psychotherapy.
