Clinical Case Conference 11 (open)
Students of Concern: Campus Care Teams in Action
Early identification and intervention for students with disruptive behaviors and/or mental illness can improve an individual’s school function and overall health and well being, as well as promote a safe and caring campus environment. Students of Concern (SOC) teams working on campus can monitor and respond to students exhibiting disturbing behavior, as well as monitor students who may be troubled, suicidal, abusing drugs, or experiencing eating disorders. Participants learn about the purpose, structure, function, and benefits of SOC teams; strategies to identify, intervene, and monitor students of concern; the role of child and adolescent psychiatrists on the team; and the importance of a systems of care approach in prevention and early intervention.
