The Use of Clozapine in Children and Adolescents for Treatment Resistant Psychosis, Mood Disorders, and Severe Aggression
Clozapine remains the gold standard for the treatment of refractory schizophrenic, schizoaffective, and mood disorder patients with psychosis and severe aggression in both the adult and child/adolescent population based on clinical and research experience. Attendees gain the knowledge necessary to be more comfortable with the use of clozapine in children and adolescents when treating resistant psychoses, mood disorders, and severe aggression. Managing the side effects of clozapine is covered in detail and strategies for the augmentation of clozapine when it is partially effective are discussed. Participants have the opportunity to discuss specific clinical situations and areas of concern within their own patient population.
