Workshop 22 (ticket)
Music 101: From Emos to Juggalos: Examining the Role of Music in the Lives of Children and Adolescents
Music has long played an important role in a child’s identity development: establishing autonomy, forming peer relationships, funding new role models, and establishing one’s identity. How can music be used in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents? This Workshop explores the current trends and trendsetters in popular music. Participants develop a music questionnaire and learn how to use it in their practices to facilitate assessment, as well as build rapport with the child or adolescent, and learn to use music therapeutically in treatment.
Thursday, October 25, 2012: 2:00 PM-5:00 PM
