Workshop 47 (ticket)
Family-Focused Treatment for Youth with Bipolar Spectrum Disorders

Early-onset bipolar disorder (BD) is a highly treatment-refractory disorder that can benefit from Family-Focused Treatment (FFT) as an adjunct to pharmacotherapy for teenage bipolar patients. Presenters share research background pertinent to FFT, followed by presentation of the treatment protocol, its objectives, and techniques for assisting families in mood monitoring and identification of warning signs. FFT can be adapted to a wide range of clinical settings. Participants become acquainted with the clinical methods involved and are encouraged to discuss the possible applicability of FFT in their practices.
