Workshop 22 (ticket)
Inpatient Psychiatry: Quality Improvement and Effective Use of Outcomes Measures and Clinical Dashboards

Inpatient psychiatric units are complex systems that treat the most acutely ill child and adolescent. Physician leaders who oversee these programs must be skilled in the latest techniques to treat psychiatric illness, but also be equipped with management skills to ensure the processes of good clinical care are carried out effectively and reliably. In this Workshop, participants learn principles of improvement science and its application to clinical work on inpatient and in residential psychiatric units, how to develop measures for patient outcomes and care process outcomes to assist in quality improvement efforts, and how to utilize quality clinical dashboards and clinical outcome measurement as a means to drive improvement.
