Electronic Medical Record Systems in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Practice: Selection of Technology and Getting Started

The adoption of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems in the practice of child and adolescent psychiatry offers significant opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of patient care. This Workshop enhances participants’ practical knowledge and familiarity with contemporary electronic medical record systems. Discussion topics include: incorporation of quality monitoring systems, decision support, improved legibility, improved organization, and improved efficiency of information exchange with colleagues. Demonstration and critical review of two specific products help participants understanding the available features and characteristics of EMR systems, and enable them to make informed choices regarding the adoption of this technology.
