Starting a Private Practice

To successfully work in a private practice setting requires a strong knowledge of the business side of medicine. Participants in this Workshop gain an understanding of the process of setting up a private practice; learn methods to assess the market factors influencing where to locate a private practice; become familiar with what is involved in creating a business plan; get ideas for successfully marketing a new practice; and learn strategies for dealing with such matters as contracts, managed care, or hiring employees. Discussion revolves around the many practical decisions that are needed before actually beginning a private practice.
