Workshop 18 (ticket)
National Institutes of Health Research Career Development and Priorities in Addiction and Mental Health

This Workshop, with presenters from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), is designed to familiarize new investigators with the grant writing and grant review process. While special emphasis is given to research mechanisms for early investigators, mid-career and senior investigators are encouraged to attend to receive updates on current NIH research priorities and policy updates. Successful researchers at various stages of career development describe their career path, including challenges and strategies for success. Participants have the opportunity to interact with program staff and senior researchers in small groups for individualized feedback on grant writing and obtaining grant funding.
