Master Clinician: Tina R. Goldstein, PhD: Psychosocial Approaches to the Treatment of Youth With Mood Disorders

Tina R. Goldstein, PhD is a Licensed Psychologist and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. Her clinical research program focuses on the development and testing of psychosocial treatments for youth with, and at-risk for, mood disorders and suicidality. Dr. Goldstein has received federal funding to conduct trials of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) for adolescents with bipolar disorder, interpersonal and social rhythm therapy (IPSRT) for youth at-risk for bipolar disorder, and motivational interviewing (MI) to enhance treatment adherence among adolescents. This CCB will promote active exchange with attendees, with a focus on common elements of psychosocial interventions for youth with mood disorders, strategies to engage, assess, and treat these youth, adaptations for various clinical settings, and challenges to implementation.
