Integrating Clinical Pathways into the Management of Psychiatric Disorders within Pediatric Settings
Accountable Care Organizations have to demonstrate that they are optimizing resource utilization while improving outcomes. It is increasingly important for child and adolescent psychiatrists to optimize resource allocation and patient outcomes as these Accountable Care Organizations increase, demanding high quality, consistent, evidence-based care. The current evidence from pediatric medicine supporting the use of clinical pathways to enhance quality of care is presented. Presenters provide examples of clinical pathways in their respective systems and attendees discuss how to draw on those experience to provide safe, effective, and consistent care for mental health disorders in various settings, as well as participate in the creation of clinical pathways, focusing on the core components of development and implementation.
