This Workshop provides a primer in principles of adult learning theory directly applicable to faculty teaching and resident learning experiences, and addresses the very significant role that co-therapy can play in educating residents is psychotherapy. Traditional psychotherapy education is centered on didactic instruction and supervision via recounting or observation of video recordings. The co-therapy model of education offers unique advantages for the trainee and the patient. Participants learn the principles of a co-therapy model of education; understand how to implement a co-therapy model in residency training; and practice skills and techniques of communication applicable to teaching and learning co-therapy.
