The
Diversity-Informed Infant Mental Health Tenets offer a context for addressing historical and structural racism, classism, homophobia, xenophobia, and other systems of oppression by providing practitioners with a framework that can be used step-by-step to reflect on personal beliefs and behaviors, improve practice, and change larger policy and systems. This Workshop introduces participants to the 10 Tenets. They were originally developed for use in early childhood clinical, research, and policy endeavors, but are applicable to many spheres of clinical practice with children and families. Applicability to and implementation of the Tenets in individual practice settings are discussed.
