This Workshop looks at the characteristics of language-based and nonverbal learning disabilities, the effect of these disorders on the functioning of child and adolescent patients, and the interplay between learning disorders and psychiatric disorders. Participants better understand the psychoeducational diagnostic process; learn to critically evaluate the content, conclusions, and recommendations of the testing and how to integrate assessment information into the treatment process. They also better understand the collaborative process involving clinical and educational staff necessary to integrate assessment into effective treatment planning and service provision in school.
