Evidence-Based Assessment for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry: Better Tools for Better Decisions and Outcomes
The knowledge, tools, and interactive process presented in this Institute provide child and adolescent psychiatrists with practical, low-cost methods of implementing evidence-based assessment in their practice settings, thus improving consistency and accuracy of diagnosis. The tracking and monitoring strategies discussed boost effectiveness of interventions and provide a safety net for more rapid detection and management of adverse events. Participants gain knowledge of evidence-based assessment tools, including diagnostic interviews and rating scales; learn the rationale for implementing evidence-based assessment, including data on improved outcomes; are introduced to model programs where evidence-based assessment has been implemented; and learn to develop evidence-based assessment implementation plans for their practice setting.
