Child and adolescent psychiatrists often serve as consultants and mentors to other health care providers involved in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with mental health problems. Developing clinical delivery systems in which the child and adolescent psychiatrist works collaboratively with primary care providers in order to improve access to care is vitally important. This Workshop provides participants with an overview of various models of child and adolescent psychiatry practice offered in collaboration with primary care. Clinical, interpersonal, and administrative skills for successful program implementation are covered. Participants are better prepared to function effectively in collaborative primary care settings, and to contribute to the development and implementation of such programs.
