Clinical Consultation Breakfast 9 (sold out)
Ethical Issues In Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
This CCB delves into ethical dilemmas currently facing child and adolescent psychiatrists in clinical, administrative, consultative, research, and teaching settings. It provides a forum for personal, informal consultation with members and former members of the AACAP Ethics Committee where questions are addressed and problems related to professional ethics discussed. It is a venue for informed guidance. Information is shared on available resources for use in addressing ethical issues physicians may encounter. Ethical dilemmas are approached in a case-study format, with attendees engaging in discussion that heightens appreciation of the role of ethical reasoning in a process designed to arrive at resolutions. In addition, attendees are encouraged to relate ethical problems they have encountered, as well as summarize these issues in a written paragraph for possible use in other educational settings that deal with ethics.
