Workshop 13 (sold out)
Starting a Private Practice
Setting up a private practice presents many challenges and few child and adolescent psychiatrists receive adequate training in the business aspects of operating a private practice. This Workshop presents a personal experience in opening a practice, as well as specific information about the process, from making the decision to open a practice to details of actually operating that practice. Topics covered include deciding on location, selecting office space, estimating the cost, creating a business plan, putting together a marketing strategy, and the tools needed to operate your business. Participants benefit from first hand experience, gain an understanding of the knowledge and tools necessary to successfully set up their own private practice, and have an opportunity to discuss their personal situation and questions.
