Workshop 14 (sold out)
Telepsychiatry 101: An Introductory Course on Getting Started
The ability of telepsychiatry to increase access to services and patients’ satisfaction with their care is well documented. However, each telepsychiatry program faces opportunities and challenges, and little information has been disseminated regarding telepsychiatry in the private sector. This Workshop provides an overview of the opportunities, challenges, and solutions involved in developing a telepsychiatry service within any setting, with a particular focus on the private practice. Training on the technological and financial aspects of telepsychiatry practice, with a focus on first steps and managing barriers, is incorporated into the personal reflections of child and adolescent psychiatrists that have successfully established telepsychiatry as part of their private practices.
