The introduction of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) into the practice of child and adolescent psychiatry in the United States is relatively recent, but is used extensively by many children, adolescents, and families seen by child and adolescent psychiatrists. Child and adolescent psychiatrists need to be aware of the growing interest in CAM. This SIG provides data from double-blind and single-blind trials with patient populations including autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, and ADHD. Participants have the opportunity to discuss recent data and the design of further studies to examine the value of CAM already being used by patients and their families.
