Language and the Immigrant Child
This SIG discusses clinically and scientifically relevant aspects of the relationship between dual language development and psychopathology or healthy emotional and psychosocial adaptation in the immigrant child, areas rarely explored in research. Participants should have a specific interest in the research and clinical issues pertaining to immigrant children, including child language development, disorders, and delays; language-based disorders; second language acquisition; bilingualism; and language and deafness. Related research and clinical questions and viewpoints are shared.
