Open Mic Night is another exciting activity at the AACAP Annual Meeting, an opportunity to experience child and adolescent psychiatry in an immediate, informal, and entertaining way.

On Open Mic Night, a microphone will be available in a room at the conference hotel where members and guests can gather in a happy throng and those most eager among them rise to share their spoken word, poetry, anecdote or story. Folks sometimes bring guitars or laptops and play music, sing or share photos or short films. Participants most often reflect on their practice of our subspecialty, but sometimes simply offer something beautiful.

Open Mic Night is co-hosted by Stu Copans, M.D. and Chuck Joy, M.D. from the Art Committee and they always bring treats. No sign-up is required, just show up. Nor is it required to read, you can participate by listening. That’s Open Mic Night, at the Annual Meeting.
