Mindfulness, a traditional Buddhist practice, has recently emerged as a popular clinical intervention, and is a core component of several widely used evidence-based treatments, e.g., dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. Participants gain the foundation and knowledge base to begin using mindfulness as a clinical intervention with children and adolescents across a range of psychiatric disorders. Information on research being conducted on mindfulness, as well as evidence-based interventions that incorporate mindfulness in treatment are presented. Participants cultivate their own mindfulness practice through structured exercises, and receive material to use in cultivating their own mindfulness practice.
